Motor Home Storage in Portugal

Hi there

I wonder if this body of experienced motor-homers know of storage facilities in Portugal around Faro, Lagos, and Tavira? We would like to take our Burstner T-Star 685 to Portugal, leaving Rosslaire in September and travelling down to Portugal. We would like to fly back at the end of November, and return to Portugal in February 2018.

I have enjoyed the various discussions on the forums. A nice group of people :)

Oh, I'd like regular updates to hear if this is worth doing.

I've been worried about leaving my motorhome over the winter and may consider leaving it in the dry in Southern Europe.

This topic crops up from time to time on motorhomefacts.com or a side issue stemming from storing abroad. It seems to be the case that you can only MOT (NCT) your vehicle in the country it is registered in. This leads to full timers having to travel back to the uk purely for a vehicle test.

Common practice is to MOT your vehicle before travel, irrespective of due date, which at least gives you a year abroad before needing to return it.

Somewhere to leave your motorhome

if you lookup motorhomefriends.com they have a website.
There are details on the camper contact site.
Pedro and Mireille are a fantastic couple who have a campsite near Paderne, about 18 miles to Faro.
And are well worth having a chat to about somewhere to keep your van!
Good luck
