Timing belt

Have approximately 40,000 miles done on our 2006 Burstner and somebody has told me to get the timing belt changed, Iooking for opinions please as I didn't think it was due to be changed yet.

every 5 years regardless of mileage i was told by my garage today, 250 plus vat, its worth getting done, if it goes it could be a few grand.

Mileage low.
But, age is the issue.
Have it changed to be on the safe side.

I got mine changed by Triatan at Pat Horan's when I got my van serviced. He did an excellent job and I highly recommend his workmanship.

A timing belt, a couple of filters and oil are the 3 cheapest things that can be put in an engine.

Age is definitely the guage not mileage and as said before small price to pay in relation to what it could cost if not done.

Change it asap!

See my chat post 'Breakdown on way to Roslare' from about 5 weeks ago and you'll be hightailing it to your nearest garage asap!
The timing belt went on me and am still trying to get it fixed and will most likely cost be me €€€€'s.
