if you do go early it is unlikely you can park at waters edge cos of daytrippers, park in car park behind toilets until most of daytrippers leave then move forward, great view !!
also mcginns pub,(carrickarede hotel) on main road before ballintoy, buy drinks or meal in the pub, park in rear car park, mccni overnight stop.

great sandy beach in front of car park and to the right of the harbour is a long sweeping sandy beach.
