camping recommendation between Bilbao and San Sebastien

Does it have to be a site? Nice aire in the area next to an elephant enclosure with a cable car etc. Not close to the sea though it's in land.

We stayed at a lovely site in Orio about 30Km west of San Sebastián. Highly recommend it, right next to a small but nice beach, lovely town, great walks around the town, and a train station that you can get to San Sebastián or to Bilbao. https://oriokanpina.com/en/ And if you have the ACSI guide it's in there. Good facilities and spotless site.

We also stayed at a great aire in Bilbao, it's on the hill outside Bilbao and is a great facility. There is a bus stop right outside which goes right into the city centre for €2.50. We stayed two nights, there is a bar just up the road from it which has a huge restaurant, basic but good quality food, worth visiting. Search for campercontact.com and look for site 10426 or municipal motor caravan park.

Bilbao was great so definitely recommend a stopover there!

There are some really nice aires on the coast. The one at Lekeitio is very good with picnic tables etc. , 10 min walk to superb beach. The aire at Sopelana near Bilbao is very nice, in a park beside a stream but a good walk to the beach. It's also very near the train station if you want to visit Bilbao. Bermeo also has an aire, but this is a bit more like a car park. Bermao has a lovely harbour and old town but I don't think it has a beach. We also liked Zumaia but haven't stayed there since the aire was moved to the other side of the river so I son't know if it is as pleasant as the old one was. The town and beach are lovely though.
