Been making great use of the TITTs (Touring in the Trees) sites since we joined this year. 11 nights so far so had our money back and nearly 10 months still to go.

Ones we have visited so far.

Gosford
Castlewellan
Parkanaur
Drum Manor
Rostrevor
Springwell

Think there are still spaces left, maximum of 280. Probably wouldn't be great unless you were going to do at least 10 nights in the year which runs from January to December and probably not great for those with children.

Fantastic for those who like walking or want to get away from the hussle & bustle.

I observed on the wall in Springwell that there was a notice clarifying the 3 day rule. The notice said you can stay longer than 3 days when there is at least 2 spaces available. However once one of those spaces are taken the longest occupier must leave and so on.

Can anyone who has stayed in Ballyboley confirm where the entrance is. Stayed in Castlewellan last night. First time, very impressed.

Never made it last weekend but hope to go soon. Shanes Hill it says on the booklet.

We might be going there tomorrow, 50/50 at the minute.

The forest office is on the Upper Ballyboley Road looking at google maps. That must be the 'unclassified' road they refer to.

Made it to ballyboley forest over the weekend. Could be a great spot except for the amount of dog sh#t in the area. I have already brought it to the attention of the forestry service. But it needs cleaned before we'll go back.

The Titts at Drum Manor, Springwell, Clonelly and Florencecourt are poopless, as they are dogs on leads areas for passing dog walkers.
Unfortunately whilst I was walking around one of the trails in Drum Manor I observed 6 poop bags dangling from the trees along the pathway. I wondered why someone would go to the bother of lifting it and then disposing of it in this way, It would have disintegrated quicker than the plastic bag that it was placed in if left where the dog did it.

Hi - a question for Ally, how was the TITT site at Rostrevor? We used this scheme a number of years ago when we had a caravan and have bought it again this year. In the past the Rostrevor site had a bad reputation, especially at weekends, as many locals made a nuisance of themselves in and around the site late at night....presumably after imbibing some alcoholic beverages!!
That site is in a nice location, and if everything was OK with it we would love to use it again - the last time we tried to use it (many years ago now) the water supply appeared to be disconnected and we eventually moved on to Castlewellan.
Any information you can give us would be appreciated!

Was there last October bank holiday on Saturday night. It was full but facilities were top notch and clean. There is an entrance barrier with refundable fob key. We did not experience any anti social behaviour even though the sky was alive with fireworks until about 10.30 pm. The only issue that I could see was separate bike trails to walking ones but young kids can easily wander onto the wrong one

I think that is the campsite and not the TITT site.

Speaking of Rosstrevor......... that was the TITTs site a couple of years ago, we had an intruder in our VAN, she only stole a bottle of beer and then drunkenly decided to tell us about it at the campfire they had created.

We were not amused, but no real harm done. We just couldn't believe someone, a stranger, would go into our van, we have locked the door ever since.

I know others who have witnessed the same person and she was as obnoxious then also.

Deirdre and Stevie there the other weekend though and had a great time. I know Stuarty also goes quite regular.
