Dethleffs Advantage No Water Supply

 ·

Can anyone advise please. I bought a 2006 Dethleffs Advantage Elegance A Class in December. I have taken it for day trips but plan an overnighter next weekend. Only problem is I cannot get the water to pump to the taps, shower or boiler. I have followed the instructions in the manual (turned the taps to warm, and depressed the red switch on the boiler). The manual makes reference to moving the drain chock to horizontal position but I can't find the drain c**k. I am sure I have failed to do something else. Can anybody give me a step by step way to turn on the water as I would like to have it working for my overnight away next weekend. Thanks.

Turn on one tap then on your control panel press the water button for a few seconds then press the OK button for a few seconds this should turn on your pump which you should hear running as the tap is open turn off the tap and fill your tank ...Hope this works

Please forgive my lack of knowledge but I am not sure of the control panel that you are referring to. My control panel looks like the one attached. I don't think I have a control panel with an "ok" on it.

Hi
the little flip switch on the floor at the boiler is a drain c**k but the main one is outside in a locker or under the floor there should be 2 handles 1 is to drain grey water and the other is to drain fresh water. Sucking eggs here but is it full of water? do you have 13v on your leisure batt? It can take a while to bleed all the air out.

Is the pump switch on?
The switch will probably show a tap.

Some vans have a second pump switch fitted to the top of the water tank , a ph call to Donaghys will also solve your problem they know all about Dethleff vans and will have any parts you may need

I have a 2005 Dethleffs Advantage, and on one trip found the hot water tap wasn't working. I had been running the water at a low level and it basically created an airlock. So I turned on both the taps (galley and bathroom). Galley on cold, bathroom on hot. After a few minutes the air was driven out and the hot water started running again. It's basically like a siphon.

The frost protection valve in our van is located in the garage, on the right hand side just inside the door. There is a small opening where the valve is located and the valve is a small pop-up button- Up is closed, Down is open. It opens automatically at less than 3degrees temperature to prevent freezing.

So in summary, make sure the valve is closed, then turn on both taps, and let them run for a few minutes. Of course make sure you have water in the tank! Good luck and as Eirebus says, I'm sure Donaghy's will help if you give them a call.

Hi I've just been reading the PDF file on dethleffs
Make sure all valves are closed
Fill tank with water check water level indicator to make sure that tank is full
Set taps to hot switch water pump on
This will fill the boiler and the hot water taps
Leave on till all bubbles are out of system
When the water is running with no bubbles turn of
Open cold water taps and repeat as for hot water
When water flows with no bubbles system is full

Dethleffs no water supply -

On your control panel turn on the 12v supply -extreme right switch, the red digital clock in the middle panel should light up. Ensure there is water in the tank. Go to the boiler pull up the red knob till it clicks this closes the drain valve. (this is the automatic drain for the boiler it opens at about 4degC or if there is no power) Turn on the taps- hot position will fill the boiler could take a few minutes .
If the red knob on the boiler doesn't stay up check that the main control unit is switched on (usually found under passenger seat) failing that the 5amp pump fuse may need replacing.
Good luck
Wally
