Anybody heading to see our neigbours accross the channel, about-france.com/highway-code is a good web site for anyone unsure of the french traffic laws and signs. Things like you can commit a offence by using hands free telephone or bluetooth and that entering a village the speed limit starts with the signboard, no other display, and ends with the sign with a line through at the other end. The old chesnut ,give way to the traffic entering from the right is also explained. and much more

I was at the Somme a few weeks ago and for the first time I saw in a village 15 km ph. I thought I was seeing things. We were barley moving in the coach.

They have also privatised the speed camera system and apparently they are using unmarked cars so the visitors will be easy pickings
