COBH ALERT

Hi All,
Stayed in beautiful Cobh last night. An ordinary van parked in bay1(about 10 o clock) looked suspicious so we kept an eye on it. A friend of ours decided to take the reg. no. When spotted by the people in the van he confronted my friend and drove off. Within a minute or two another van pulled out from the middle of the parking area and drove off. We phoned the Gardai who arrived within minutes. Looked like these people were waiting for people to go out and then break into the vans.So please be aware and watch out for suspicious people.

CCCTV in the area of the bottle bank. Don't think there is any reason to worry about staying there just to keep your eyes open .

Home from two nights in cobh, took advice and parked near the bottlebank area, it was busy monday night, and quieter last night. No hassle there, excellent facility and a pleasure to be there. Weather was beautiful and lovely walks.

I was there the weekend.
There were about 12 other vans
No problems.

Can I just say that irish rail do a family day return for €21.75 from cobh station into kent station in cork city which is a 10 min walk to Patrick street.
That's 2 adults and up to 4 children for that price
you would pay more for parking for a few hours

Thats good price. And very handy for a day out. I think that Cobh is an excellent facility and with the large amount of campers there on a nightly basis, there wont be any trouble. I havent heard about any motorhome being broken into.
