Draught Problem

 ·

Hi
I had an Oven changed on my Chausson Welcome 85 when I bought it.
I know it needs to be Vented and there is a Vent to the Outside but there is a Gap of about a Quarter of an Inch all around the Front of the Oven and the wind blows straight in.
Does this gap need to be there or is there some way I could minimise the Draught

We have the same gap, same oven in I think, smev?

I was going to fill the gap with Fibreglass from behind by taking the vent off the outside, I'll get around to it somehow. I can't see how it would have any adverse effect.

Thanks for the Reply.Yeah it's a Smev Oven/Grill
I was thinking of something like a Rope Seal from a Stove maybe like this

We only use the Grill Part of the Oven for Toast anyway.
Anyone any other Suggestions.?

I had the same problem with a smev grill. Hell of a draught can come in the vents if the wind is coming in that direction.
My solution was to put a strip of metal with a padded back over the vent. I just remove it when I want to use the grill and then refit when finished.
I initially blocked the vent fully but I found that the grill did'nt seem to work as well with the vent covered.
