iPad data in Ireland?

Any advice on using an iPad in Ireland this July.
Roaming is hideously expensive.....£1.29 per MB ! We are with 3 but all the networks are the same sort of price.
Is there any way of buying an Irish sim card?....preferably in advance but after arrival is ok too.

Go into a three store and buy a data sim for pay as you go, don't know of any problems in doing that unlike some of our continental friends
