Hi just thinking of camping /van on the royal cannal some were on my way from donegal to dublin a was looking somewhere to park up for the night anybody know? thanks

Try Cloondara [Richmond harbour] only a few miles from the main Donegal/ Dublin road and just west of Longford, you also have Tarmonbarry on the shannon just a mile up the road. I think there may be reviews for both in the review section.

We've stayed over and to the left of the bridge at the old slip way, where the little thatched cottage is. Never been a problem (apart from the duck quacks).

We also stayed in the same spot, had a few pints, bbq and a nice quiet night. Recycling and water taps. Friendly in the pub.
