Thankfully I have my problem sorted with the steam coming out of my outside vent. It turned out to be nothing more than a build up of condensation in the flue liner pipe. Some thing that I have never seen happen before with my heating in the 14yrs that I have had the van. Also for any who might have the same Truma heater model as my own a C6002/C3042, it doesn't have a heating element to heat the water but a heating band that wraps around the water jacket and unlike a more modern models it doesn't have a re-set button.

A big thank you to Derek Walsh Campers in Kildimo Co Limerick and John for his bang on diagnosis over the phone.
Seamus.

Sorry regarding the above I should have mentioned it. On a cautionary note if any body experiences any thing similar steam coming from their outside vent please make sure that it is steam and not SMOKE :'( I think the consequences speak for them selves.

Thanks Douzeper pity I didn't pick up on that thread it would have saved me a lot of trouble. As they say live and learn. Alas the blindingly obvious is only obvious when you know what it is :D plus there is a lot to be said for a carbon monoxide detector
