Hi,
I think at the moment there is a 10% discount for the two above ferry companies. Last year there were at least a couple of times they offered 20%. Does anyone think it is worth holding off on booking and hope that the 20% offers come in?
Also looked at Brittany Ferries - pretty steep price!
thanks

They seemed to be doing good deals last weekend at the Belfast show, according to feedback I got from customers.
They are also attending the Dublin show this weekend if anyone is around Dublin. Might be worth calling in to check it out.

I have used either stena or IF for irish sea summer crossing for past 5 years and always have used either a 20% off discount or a kids go free discount (worked out almost the same ). We never booked until the deals line which was well in to late spring. I will be holding out for definite.

Stena had good deals at the Belfast show including motorhomes for the price of a car between Belfast and cairnryan/ Liverpool. Code is Bigsave.

Got the 20% off deal in early December with Irish ferries. Very good indeed.

I bottled it. Went through Irish Ferries and Stena websites and the big problem wasnt so much the availability of sailings but the availability of cabins. Have two small kids and needed a 4-birth cabin, and they seem to be disappearing for the sailings on the dates we were looking for - mid July essentially. So booked Stena today @ 10% - Irish Ferries 10% offer ended today ....

I used bigsave last night for a July sailing, and got 20% off. plus we had 55 euro available for frequent use, so ended up Dublin/Holyhead return for £280 in high season. Can't be bad at that.

You did well there Conrad - to make sure I got a cabin each way, the Stena booking for mid-July, including loyalty points of 50 euro, was about 1050 euro. Irish Ferries came in at 1370, and Brittany came in a lot more even than that. But again to stress, we couldn't do this trip without cabins and they seem to be disappearing fast in my booking experience ...

It's the discount code which you key onto the Stenaline site

Just booked with Brittany as its on my doorstep (3 miles to Ringaskiddy), same issue cabins disappearing on Irish ferries for the dates we wanted so didnt get the discount, but strangely it ended up being cheaper by over a hundred euros so all good.

That's good Mick well done to you.. I looked at Brittany for the dates I needed it and found it to be an awful lot more expensive to Stena. Haev to admin wouldnt be a huge fan of Stena but if truth be known, its a bit of a slog going to France no matter what ferry you use.

Anyone got any good or innovative ideas on how to alleviate extreme boredom going across to France, with two daughters 12 and 9? Internet always a bit poor on the ship. We have a laptop and some movies but any other suggestions welcome.

Play games cards or any game for spending money that they think they will beat you at,always keeps my Granddaughters 11 and 9 interested , just make sure the stakes are small enough to leave yourself some after they gang up and fleece you.
Have a good one hope the weather is kind.

Booked our trip on the 10% IF deal before the end of January. Out in May, back in June via Cherbourg Rosslare.

Cost was €465.30 return including cabins, about 15% higher than it was last year for approximately the same dates. Can't remember if I got 20% discount last year, if so the cost is about 5% more than last year. With the exchange rate it is probably more like a third more expensive in £GBP. I booked mid April last year.

We are doing the same trip with IF that we did last year. Heading for most of August. Price was under £500 and rate was reasonable so paid in full at the time. I must agree it was more than last year.
