Hot whiskeys.... Infusions??

A very important part of winter camping for myself and cat, are hot whiskeys!! BUT there's a 1000 and 1 varieties and I'm curious as to what people's go-to one is??

We're about to 'infuse' a Rosemary, star of anise, cinnamon Whaley for a week before making a hot toddy with the usual lemons cloves and sugar...ill let you know how it goes

picked up on this Through the Teeling whiskey tour in Dublin

Has anyone a particular recipe they go for?? Has anyone tried 'infusing'?

Never tried Whiskey, is that not punishable by death in Ireland? I am hoping the Sloe gin will be ready for Christmas though.
