Kitchen sink

We have a stainless steel smev kitchen sink in our camper and it has sprung a leak in the base. It looks like a tiny pin hole which I'd say is down to wear and tear. The dealer I bought the van from is suggesting Tec 7 to repair it. Has anyone any experience of that or any other suggestions, thanks

John,it might be best to replace the sink, you don't want dampness occurring, although I can say that I have used tech seven on a hot water tank about five years ago as a temporary repair and it is still holding water.

I used similar on a sink at home that somehow developed a small perfectly circular hole below it after quite a few years, think it was some sort of manufacturing mould left over. Anyhow the sealant similar to tech7 is still working and causing no problems.

Any sort of epoxy resin or chemical metal will seal it up again, just make sure you put it on the underside as it won't look too good inside the sink!

I agree with John there should be no problem sealing it as their is very little pressure on the repair, Just make sure where you are repairing it is clean and dry might be no harm to give it a rub of fine sandpaper to insure a good adhesion

Took the sink out this evening, and applied the tech 7 to the spot, hopefully that will do the trick, if not I'll just have to invest, thanks for all the help and advice, its great to have a forum like this to show us greenhorns the ropes, thanks again
