With my 2012 Dorset Autosleeper decided to put the control unit at the back of the van.
This is not a problem in summer but as the days draw in it is a pain.
As many of you may know if you go anywhere the habitation electrics switches off so if you go anywhere at night say for a meal and go back to the van when you get back in the hab area the only light that comes on is in the step, waste of time when you need to get to the control unit in a pitch black pub carpark
So I decided to add a couple more lights controlled by the door switch, one I simply pigged off of the existing light by taking a cable up under the door seal and one at the back a light over the control panel having found the original connections behind the brake light for the rear interior light fitted when it was a vanĀ
To finally get to my question when I use small LED lights they work great when you open the door but when you close it after the delay when the original light goes out the LED lights remain on with a low light, if I use a normal light (non LED) they just go out.
Tried to put LEDs to replace the cab interior lights on my previous van (a 2006 Ducato) and they did the same
So just wondered if anybody can explain to me why.
By the way the new lights I am using now are these
