Well just home from our week in the south, went to cobh and had a great time people so friendly stayed 3days as there was only 2 other m/hs at the m/h park then decided to head up to greystones for a couple of days but when we got there nowhere to park went down to the marina 1euro per hour for parking then went to the dart station barriers everywhere had to leave and go up to howth, then it got really funny was having a cup to tea and watched a van with a trailer on the back he had fishing nets in a big crate and tried to drive under the barrier but hit it broke the rope that Holmes it closed barrier swung round and hit the side of the van what a dent ,well laugh I nearly sh.t fell on the floor and out the door to get a photo going to try and post it here you will have to blow it up to see it

Hi as I said I would look into this when I got home and no one can confirm that the barrier was closed on the Marine Rd / La Touch Car Park ( Ref 53.144957, -6.061375 ) this is the one that was in use all summer and it dose not look like it was closed as the center upright and exit overhead pole is missing.
The Photo you have with the Post is of Howth have you one of where you were in Greystones.

The Car parks at the South Beach, Dart Park and ride and opposite the old Ta Touch Car park are all have barriers
If the do close this Car park I can give you all the Mail address for the local Parasites if you want them. It might be an idea if someone with a better understanding of the law and how to put together a letter we all could use to complain to local Councils.

And in case anyone is offended by my use of the word Parasite read the following Dictionary.com and try if you want to convince me i am wrong in my opinion of the elected Representative.

As I posted there is 3 car parks with barriers 2 are pay parking 1 is free ( the park and ride ) but by far the best one is as in the post ( topic.php?p=77601#real77601 ) have a look at it and see if this is the one you found with a barrier .or google map the ref I gave.

You will certainly wast your time getting in touch with anyone if they turn around and tell you that you should have gone to the car park that is open and a short walk over the Gray railway bridge to the Main St, restaurants and Bars.

I am often thinking of parking there myself as i live 2.5 kg from then town.

If you still want I can get you all the contact details.

We went for a drive to Greystones yesterday,(Sunday midday) Christmas Market on facing harbour, didn't see any MHs parked. Drove on aaround to seafront with parallel parking, pulled into a double space but I said drive on around to Dart car park as I had heard that is where MHs park. There was one in far corner, otherwise full with cars, didn't look to see if barrier was up.
Main Street busy and tight driving down towards station with cars trying to park.

Someone in the summer said they heard you could park at Dun Laoghaire harbour near the coal harbour but I have not been down that way to check.
I don't think Stena come into Dun Laoghaire now and there used to be a large parking area at ferry entrance.

Its great to see a town busy when so many are nearly deserted ,there is parallel parking alone in front of St David's School ,no bays (on the meter 3euro all day ) I walked pass the coal harbour last Thursday at 10.30 am there were 2 campers parked up. It is pay parking and its also covered by 24hr maned vidio security . As regardes the ferry entrance it has cones across the entrance
