Is it still possible to overnight in Cushendun? It appears on the Craic map and in the review section but currently doesn't get a mention on the MHC app.
We stayed in early summer without any problem but I have since read on here that new signs have been erected.
Yes Mark signs have been erected but we have stayed since that and not had any problems,we also have been working close by there over the summer and quite a few foreign vans staying overnight.
I think the real problem was to many vans staying at once and campsight owner got upset.

Thanks Mark. Just did a search and read the recent posts. Was it removed from the app because of the signs?
It was removed from the APP because of the signs and because of complaints from the National trust, whom own the ground.
There is a bit of history with Cushendun, but a stopover there should be ok, it always is for us. In fact I think i'll add it to the app again, with a mention of the signs.

Thanks Ally. Heading that direction tomorrow for 1st time and wasn't sure about the locations. Is Ballintoy a "no go" area now too as mentioned by previous post.

Hi John
My advice to you when up that way would be to use any of the carparks that you find available,if there are several vans there when you arrive which is unlikely at this time of year then move on.
As for the signs i accept that they are there but ignore them and nobody as yet has come to evict me.

Legally or Illegally? does anyone know ?
If they have changed the by-laws then they could fine you, probably wouldn't happen. If they haven't then yes you can, but you might have to be prepared for a debate or even fight it in court.
I know a few who do PARK there still.
I intend to find out about the by-laws and intend to park there and I am also prepared to fight it once I gather the correct information

Does anybody on this forum know of anyone having been taken to court and fined for parking their motorhome overnight in one of these carparks with the no camping signs erected.
I certainly do not and will continue to use them when i wish to as the signs are only relevant to those people that wish to adhere to them, or see them .
If i ever end up in court because of it i will keep you all informed but untill then it is business as usual.

My attitude exactly too MTGand as yet I've never been asked to move on. If I was I would say to the Police, sorry I've had a few glasses of wine and I'm not driving.

There's nothing beats throwing your hands up to drinking alcohol and being in charge of a vehicle to Police, I don't think you meant what you posted but I get your drift. :bandit:
