Only if you cant work out how the system works!
Ours has only blow heating.
We are still newbies, & sometimes struggle to get it working right.
No problems in the summer though 8-)

POSSIBLE ADVANTAGES
Safer -No access to naked Flame
Safer -Probably better Flue System to expel possible harmful byproducts of gas combustion
Much Less Water vapor released inside van, so no condensation
Better heat distribution and more controllable
Some such systems have air ducting that contribute to prevent water tank/s from freezing

POSSIBLE DISADVANTAGES
More prone to faults of complex electronic ignition, temperature control and safety cut-out systems
Some control panels are not intuitively easy to operate correctly
Essential to have an unrestricted air supply to the heater unit
Cost of unit
Higher Cost of Service/Maintenance
No flame to make toast !!

No doubt others will think of other advantages and disadvantages.

Also requires power to run the fan making it harder on leisure batteries than a gas fire which requires none.
Don't let it put you off as our current van and the previous two had blown air only and we have never had any issues.

Another advantage is you can set the temperature stat at night going to bed and it turns heater on when van gets colder and turns off again when set temp is reached,
Another advantage of the blow heating (I'm referring to traumatic combi) is it is designed to be operated whilst the vehicle is moving if needed,
The combi unit takes up less room that a fire and separate water boiler,

When I was looking at the Adria I was a bit open minded about it but have had no problem,

A friend (old work colleague) had his MH 8+ years and didn't know how to use it properly, he would turn on said heater and would get the initial blow of heat until the van reached the set temp and the blower would reduce/stop as it is supposed to, he thought that it wasn't working properly until we were away one evening (in cold weather) and that's when he figured how to use it,

Good luck with the hunt for a new MH

Which type of blown air are you talking about.
There are TWO TYPES basic types commonly used,
The Truma Combi type and Truma S type, both have external flues and both are safe to leave on overnight.
The Truma S type is a very simple convector heater and only uses power if the blow fan (which is an optional extra) is in use, which is distributed via ducting.
The Truma Combi uses power all the time its on and is blow heating via ducting only, it also provides hot water.
Neither allow and moisture or gasses into the 'van.

Any type of gas heater which is not vented or flued to the outside should not be used due to the risk of CO2 poisoning

Wouldn`t touch a van with Whale blown heating, we have it and it is really noisy when on gas compared to other types, we can`t run it overnight because its so loud, spoke to whale and they just said that`s the way it is.Cheap and useless. ( I added the useless)

I agree with Mark. Over 9 years never had any problems. Only good thing about the fire is the instant heat to warm your ass if you've been out in the cold.

This is our first blow heater it does take a few mins to get up to temp but I think it's better am trying to work out just how much gas it uses to see if it's moe economic that the fire type plus it is quicker at warming the water

Would rather have a fire, blow heating too sore on the batteries but nearly impossible to get a motorhome with a fire these days. We have blow heating.

Or you could get Alde heating!

I know it's a great system, but the pump uses the power.

We've had blown air in all our, 3, RV's and I found them all excellent, fast to heat up, easy to use and can be left on all night. . However, being American, they're big, high consuming units and they can be quite loud. If I had diesel power, I'd be very interested in the Karcher, night heater system used in truck sleeper cabs, nice and cosy and damn near silent.

I have alde currently which is great. Its like the heating system at home with the radiators at home with hot water. It takes 20 minutes to balance out in such a small space. My circulating pump is noisy but that's down to 22 years of use. I have a webasto system in my car which is excellent, with hot water 5kw air over hot water
