Last sting of a dying wasp comes to mind.
Are these guys going to take on Louth Co.Co. (Carrickmacross), Mayo Co.Co. (Crossmolina), Cavan Co.Co. (who allow overnight parking in their carparks), Galway Harbour Company, Waterways Ireland (Portumna) to name a few of the parking places provided by councils and semi state bodies and all the private providers (the hotels, marinas, pubs, etc).
Then there are all the area provided by the councils in NI and the UK, not to mention the 15,000 plus elsewhere in Europe which are part of the landscape.
Perhaps it's about time the campsite owners realised there is another offering to be provided and provide simple overnight parking on or adjacent to their premises priced accordingly and also allow access to services to passing motorhome based tourists like is provided in Europe for a charge of €3/€5, but then how many have drive over grey water disposal grids in place, I've been on many campsites here in Ireland which don't.
I for one don't normally want or need their EHU, children's play areas, camper's kitchens, TV rooms or shower/toilet blocks unless I've the grandchildren with me and then all I really need is the children's play area.
The actions of the site owners is akin to a restaurateur complaining about a coffee shop being set up, different market segments, different clientele.
