Purchased a new Energy Bull Battery by Banner. I ordered a 135AH, on inspection it looks liek a 115AH...

I emailed the supplier and they confirmed it was a 135AH, still not convinced I emailed banner........

Quote
Dear customer,

thank you for your inquiry and your interest on Banner batteries. Your
battery is the Energy Bull 95901 with a K20 capacity of 115Ah and a K100
capacity of 135Ah. K20 means to discharge the battery with a current of
capacity/20 ampere for 20 hours. K100 means to discharge the battery with a
current of capacity/100 ampere for 100 hours.

Can someoen explain that? it makes no sense to me! :)

Just looking at the picture again and it could be classed as a 90aH under the K5 rating

Did you ever get the second one delivered?

Its a bit like lb's and kilos same thing except measured differently.

Yes, very confusing.
I asked at the local market for a pound of cherries please.... was told in no uncertain terms it was kilos now.
I said OK then, "can I have a pound of kilos please"

115ah is Highlighted so I would be inclined to take that as the capacity.

That's what I said to the dealer.

The 'K' rating explained.

The K ratings are important. They give the capacity of the battery which is dependant on the rate the current is taken from them.

In the case of your battery dividing the Ah rating 115 by K figure 20 gives a figure of 5.75 which means that at a current draw of 5.75 amps the battery will last 20 hours. The equation means for your battery with a draw of 18 amps it will last 5 hours and at a draw of 1.35 amps it will last 100 hours.
You can see its not a linear equation.

Simply put the higher the current draw the less a battery will give before it s voltage drops to indicate fully discharged.

Strange labelling if you ask me, maybe some logic but it's confusing to a layman.

He has purchased a 110Ah and his labelling is different...

I paid for a 135AH, but from looking at the label I could of purchased a 90AH and got the same battery.

All batteries are different and have different characteristics.
My edited post hopefully explains it in a simpler way. The K20 performance is probably the more realistic for 'normal' use but the K5 or lower figure performance would be relevant if using an inverter pulling a heavy load.

usually the ratings for SLA batteries anyway is given for a C20 rating ... which means the same thing as K20 as outlined above ..

By that logic, I would say that what you have there is (what is normally called) a 115Ah battery. If it were advertised as 135Ah, I would say that it is misleading.
