Hi, I have Chausson Flash 2, 2009 on a Ford transit base.
When parked and on EHU I notice that the engine battery does not receive a charge.
Is this ok or is a fuse gone somewhere? It charges fine while driving so no problem really, just curious!

Out of curiosity, how do you know its not taking the charge? On hook up!

I had an Autosleeper Rienza for several years, also on a Transit base, although I think that is coincidental. I could charge either the vehicle battery or habitation battery via a rocker switch. I could not charge both at the same time, though this was never an issue.

If you are concerned then you can fit a 'battery master' which will divert from the hab to the vehicle when required. It is not overly expensive and is highly thought of by many motorhomers in G. Britain.

Engine battery should be charged while driving so dosent need chargeing while parked unless parked for a long period

I didn't think the EHU had anything to do with the engine side of things

The biggest perceived benefit of the battery master seems to be that, if you have a solar panel charging your hab battery, then the battery master trickles a charge to the vehicle battery once the hab is fully charged.

This trickle charge stops the vehicle battery from flattening due to alarms and other associated kit whilst in storage. It may be that more GB vans are in storage than here in Ireland.
