Raiwater entering drivers window

 ·

Hi Everyone,

I have a minor irritation rather than a major problem, but perhaps someone has found a solution. When it rains on warmer days, I cannot leave my drivers door window open in my A class Hymer as the rain water comes directly in and falls right on top of the electric window controls! (great design Hymer!). I was wondering if anyone on here has come accross the "wind deflectors" which can be fitted to most cars, which would suit the very flat door of most A class vans. Any help or suggestions gratefully accepted.

Many thanks in advance,
Tony

Tony, I've got exactly the same problem on my Adria Vision which is an A Class as well. Haven't been able to find a solution apart from closing the window. Not very helpful I know.

Pat, I've tried is and it did not work for me and took me ages to get the adhesive off without leaving a nasty mark.

Is the window manufacturer specific or from the base vehicle, because that would make getting them easier if it was from say fiat or Renault. I have them fitted to my fiat based cab and got them off eBay. There are two types, ones that fit in the glass channel and ones that stick on, these may be the answer if they were a close enough fit.

I think they are off the base vehicle specific -also think that they are lreland made? So perhaps email them off ebay and they may be able to sort something out?

Just fitted the self stick gutter over my drivers side window this week.( Probably a similar van to yours) Stops the rain from dripping in when parked up but unfortunately not when driving along.

Probably able to get the answers with out logging on ?
If that is the case should an important thing like mechanical issues be kept for subscribed members?

Yes Jack but on reflection every body subscribed or not can contribute, it was just the thought of all the people that replied and to think some wouldn't bother to check the answers. Maybe he did off line

I have had wind deflectors on my Autocruise from 2003, think I got them from an camper shop on the net. If you have a coachbuilt Hymer and not a standard van door like mine then why not try under coachbuilders as lots of small mini coaches are constructed this way or try on the German E.Bay as they would have a solution to the problem .

In my experience over the years of running forums and websites I have found a reason for that SOMEtimes, some people cannot find their post again, forgot where they posted and what website it was on, or just forgot all together.

There are still a load of technophobes out there that just can't their head around how things work on the net. They find something one day and never ever see it again. That's one theory anyhow :)
