Put du fou, France

Hi folks, going to France in Sept, me and neighbours. He seems to be set on going to Puy De Fou park, so might tag along. Any advise on sites or campsites close to the park? I googled same and got some info but in French lingo so any personal knowledge of Aires/sites or locality would be appreciated.
We hope to stop on way down from Cherbourg for a night or two, so yet to decide where. Any options?

Regards,
Franco

Thanks Thepilote for that information. Can you say if caravans can stay there as well, as neighbour will never have one.

There is also a nice municipal campsite in the village.
It is a few years since we stopped there but Les Eppesses I think is the name.

Took a stroll around some of the aires yesterday say 2 caravans. Cost 7e to stay from 0100 until 0700hrs, rest of the time is free.there's a bus that runs to the entrance from 0900 to 1000hrs and again from 1830 to 1745hrs,a bread shop opens from 0700 to 0845hrs.
It opens at 1000hrs and closes at 2230hrs. It can be done in 1 day but you would have to plan it well before hand, we have just done it all today.
Entrance price is 35e for 1 day or 55 for 2 days.
It's a very busy Aires but can hold plenty.

Was there as well a few weeks ago but went too late in the day so didnt get much in, we missed way more than we saw. Next time I think the strategy might be to go the evening before and stay in their aires, to get full use of the park next day. Aires has electric hookup which we used while there for the day (electric hookup involves getting a token for about 2 Euro which lasts about 8-10 hours - you can get it at a machine beside the toilet on the way in).
Must say we all loved the park even though it was all in French - that new one- the Dernier Panache I think, really spectacular - I am envious of you, enjoy!!
