Overnight at Dublin Ferry Port

 ·

Hi

We are coming over to Ireland for a four week stay in September and as our ferry gets in around midnight I wondered if there is anywhere to stay either at the Ferry terminal or somewhere close by that is fairly safe for the night. Didn't really want to drive very far if possible.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Linda

Around the port is very noisy at night as its a busy freight port, if you want a site then Camac Valley or if happy to "wild camp" then Howth is still an option. Greystones is an option more so if heading south but it is a longer drive.

Hello belly, we live in Dublin and lately i have noticed quite a few campers staying overnight outside james gate [guinness brewery]Here are the co ordinates 53.346665, -6.287022 .its a sort of lay by on that trucks use but its on one of the busiest roads heading west out of the city and i would expect it to be noisy. I cant vouch for its safety but personally i would not be that worried.

IT is very noisy and gets busy about 5:30 onwards, but I would park there if I had to

Howarth was noisy from 05:30 this morning. First all a van came and parked right beside us, then another then a forklift truck swapped loads. Next a sea gull was dancing on my roof, then a boat came in along with two white vans to unload. Nightmare, not to mention the stench coming from discarded crabs.

How inconsiderate.

You would never guess it was a working port and the motorhomes were the visitors. LOL
