Does anyone know if one can over night some where safe near the Kildare Shopping Centre? The wife is looking for some retail therapy.
Hi jack we stayed in Kildare village in the carpark of The Silken Thomas pub not far from outlet. Not a problem parking overnight very large carpark and food was excellent.

Jack, there is also a hotel at junction 14, maybe 8 miles from the Kildare Village plus a truck stop a further mile or so along the R445. Both are free for the price of a meal. The hotel has EHU if needed but AFAIR it is €10.
I think the hotel is on the Craic map. Sorry cant remember the name.

Jack,
Congratulations on the new house. I hope you will be very happy there. However, you may wish to alter your profile.
I now know that you have an Adria van, where you live, (number is unimportant) and that you will be away from Thursday to Sunday soon. I would hate for anything to happen to your home while you were away. Even if like myself you have nothing of great value (apart from the van which is priceless)

I got it wrong. It was the Gandon hotel I was referring to but couldn't remember the name. Still possibly suitable for you but two junction away from Kildare.

nurney lakes only about 5 mile from the village a little bit pricy at the minute but i was talking to the owner and am due to pay him another visit and discuss it some more it is a very nice place with all you need as in water cassette emptying and EHU and would be handy for a winter visit as there are three fishing lakes there so something to do during the day anyway ill keep MHC updated on my negotiations.
That sounds interesting Micklad and very handy too.

Junction 14 Mayfield isn't very far either, I have seen Motorhomes parked there that appeared to be parked overnight when going to Dublin very early in the Morning, I don't know how safe it is there though.
