Park up in St.Colms park in the waterside.(1st pic, it's on the main road to Coleraine) Plenty of room there and a stroll across the peace bridge leaves you at the pedestrian shopping streets and a stones throw from the diamond and the major shopping centres of the Richmond centre and the foyleside.
There's also the possibility of parking just outside the city walls on Bishops street and you will have access to the diamond that way.(2nd pic, dropped pin on lower left)...
Go into Derry, take lower deck on Craigavon Bridge, bear left and take road to newtowncunningham/Donegal, travel about 1/2 mile and take hairpin right onto Bishops street, follow bishop street right through the lights up to Bishops gate where there is a wide parking area for coaches/visitors on trips to the city.
Derry is a great city for a visit.
Could you park overnight in St.Colms park for Halloween Sun- Mon night ???
You "probably" could... However
Derry is one hell of a busy town that night and I should think st.Colms park may be frequented by all manner of ghouls and ghosts on that night......!... So may be noisy and disruptive.

Halloween all sorted thanks to your comment Helgahobby on parking in a mates driveway.
Got in touch with an ex neighbour and I am now parking in his driveway just off the Rossdowney road.
He has even asked if I would prefer Bell's Whisky or Jameson.

Might need Altnagelvin if the Bell's and Jameson don't mix well.
