Motorhomecraic Snubbed

Read through it expecting to see Motorhomecraic mentioned at least once. Everything else is mentioned. Are we, as the biggest collection of Motorhomers In Ireland being snubbed by a well known Magazine? Seems very strange that they never mentioned MHC, after all they have an account on MHC. Perhaps just an error on their part?

I was made aware of this today. It does seem strange as they seem to have went to some length to search the internet for information on Motorhoming in Ireland. That cannot be done without coming across Motorhomecraic, for obvious reasons.

So it would appear that we were left out of the article on purpose. I can't think of any reason why they would do that though.

I wonder are they looking at MHC as the opposition to their own website, I know they are based in England but what other reason would they have,

Could it be the app?

I have no Idea John, but what I do know is they are doing their readers an injustice by holding back information after they paying for the Magazine. It would put you thinking how much power these Magazines have to sway things, be it be reviews on Motorhomes or Camp sites, in fact anything Motorhome related.

MHC could send a letter for next issue, as an add-on, Roy Couchman may miss out this time, but for others coming to Ireland. Also they could email him with the extra information.

I reckon it is simply lazy journalism. I have observed over the last number of years that when it comes to visiting Ireland (both parts) the same three or four campsites are trotted out for a mention. This applies to the C&CC as well as the 'big' commercial publications.

I dare say our Welsh and Scottish members have similar views on their own territory. I don't know about the English, but then who does !!

MHC exit !! did this many moons ago, over the years I have found that the information printed in their articles has in many cases lost the plot, what is supposed to be good helpfull information has resorted to a lot of hot air and very lacking in the very basic details that people require to plan a holiday, the only time you get really good reports is when a person sends them an article to be published, then you get the correct information.
I now spend my money on fuel for my camper as this better value.
Regards and happy travels.

When I highlighted the issue on another forum one of our Craic members suggested the omission was lazy journalism, I couldn't agree more.

Take them up on their offer and send a letter to them extolling the benefits we offer to motorhomers.

Having put in the original post I think their response is a disgrace, They are not big enough to give a simple apology and admit they got it wrong. I also think that the omission of Motorhomecraic in their letter in MMM be intentional or not has given the site much more positive publicity than if they included it in their article and the more they dig their heels the more publicity the site gets

By the way that was the last copy of MMM that I will be buying, If they leave an apology in next months MMM will some one let me know?

Don't know, I've stopped buying it as it's not relevant to me, as I don't live in their core interest area

Why not put an ad in mmm stateing anyone who is coming over to Ireland that mmc offer a great service and if in any trouble can get help on our helping others section as well as being given all the best places and sites to go,also we have members in the 4 corners of Ireland who would bend over backwards to help fellow m/h owners out see if they accept the advert

They can't charge anymore than other adds if they do it's discrimination, ( where have we come across that before)

@hillton9

I doubt they would do that.

I could not afford an ad with them. Anyhow no need, I spend enough on other formats, like Google and have plenty of hits.
