Advice MPG and parts

Hello all RV,s

Nice to see the RV,S still alive and being used here , I have owned quite a lot of them down the years as I used to import them and sell them (pullers and pushers) when market was there for them so have quite a knowledge of them in every area if anyone needs advice or info

Now I don't have a RV any more myself or import them but have a lot of spares and parts (tyres , , ,starters, filters, locks, ect ect even a 110v compressor ) around if anyone wants to PM me and will see if I have what you need

I also see that most of you are MPG aware with cost of fuel as was case 10-15 years ago but I don't see anyone giving advise about raising the MPG of your RV , something I done was change the shift points the gearboxes because as you know they rev too high before they change gear and the amount of torque that they produce they need to rev very little to pull you along especially diesels , the Americans just seem to have thrown in the petrol gearbox with a diesel engine , so if knowledge is of interest to anyone feel free to ask how to do it

Hi Pat, I know what you mean re: commercial/diesel engines and RV gearboxes, that"d work with a diesel but not much we can do with a petrol engine, I"m already on lpg and I try to be light with the right foot ! :'( The biggest problem is scourcing lpg, I have a local suplier but , if I need to refill it pays to plan ahead. Normally France/Europe is no prob. but, noticed last time that Le Froggies are putting height barriers at the entrance to the petrol stations, and that"s where the lpg usually is, ok for the HGVs on diesel 🇧🇭 Cheers, see my pm re parts. Yes points can be changed on Allison boxes as I done 3 of them and if I remember correct I lowered shift down to around 2000rpm and big change was a whooping big increase in MPG , all you need to do is change springs in the box

Thanks Pat, Change points seem to be around 2000rpm already, so I think I will leave well enough alone.best of luck. Nomad
