Looking to buy a camper - any models that give more trouble mechanically?

The base models are also generally the same - the Ducato i think is the most used.
It must be a Turbo Diesel - if its not - don't be expecting to get up hills in any sort of a rush - bicycles might overtake you
The interior should indicate how it was treated previously and if well looked after - the underneath and engine bay should be in similar condition.
I do most that i can with Hessy - Gearbox was too difficult and a job for professionals - but i have a log of all that is done and she shines all over for her age.
Drive it - ponder and decide - after that this site will assist where possible to correct niggles and help you settle in.

This is no criticisim of Ford ,just to say you need to take a thorough look at the condition of the chassis.
in my book if it has been or needs welded,i would avoid it.
