Continually having problems with sooting in the fridge jet, so I contacted Gasit, and here is their excellent reply.
Nick,
Thank you for the message via our GAS IT webshop.
The LPG gas inside your GAS IT tank when filled in the UK is 100% propane ( other countries use a slightly different mix of propane and butane ) which is sourced and delivered to the Autogas pumps from the same main gas distribution outlets as the Calor, Flogas, Countrywide and more type exchange bottles you might have been using before are filled from, so its 100% the same quality and type of gas and its also delivered to your appliances from our GAS IT tank in the same way as an exchange bottle. The only difference is that you fill it yourself and don't go and hand a bottle back and collect another, so the appliances in the vehicle will run equality as well and with the same maintenance requirement for the jets when using your GAS IT tanks as it will your original exchange bottles. People think gas is clean, which it is when it burns compared to other fossil fuels, but in its raw, stored in a bottle/gas tank state its far from it and that's why jets on anything that burns can block up and thus need servicing.
When you say we are now selling a inline filter, I'm unsure if you mean the new DGI filter we have introduced or the original GAS IT outlet type we have bee selling for over 20 years? The LPG filters we are selling is not a recent item on the GAS IT portfolio, in fact we've been selling LPG filters for over 20 years, the only thing we have done is introduce an angled elbow version about 3 years ago to make fitting gas bottles easier in gas lockers. We have introduced recently is the DGI ( Direct Gas In ) filter that works on the fill point, as we are trying to filter any mechanical debris before its pumped into the tank, like dirt on the fill gun, heavy ends in the gas and so on.
Both of our filters will greatly help reduce any contaminants getting into and out of your GAS IT or any gas supply system for that. We have been supplying our same outlet filters for exchange type bottles - Calor and so on as all gas is dirty for the 20 ish years.
I don't know your vehicle type or gas system and appliance install details but from a general technical point of view of people who have retrofitted their vehicle and building them and you mention that your fridge jet is carbonising, so as well as general running on gas one another cause of sooting of any gas jet (as i like to call it) is the pressure of the gas system could be wrong due to the wrong regulator being fitted for the appliance jetting or the air supply to the gas appliance could be blocked. For example, running an appliance jetted for 50mb on 37mb.
I hope this has given you some good information, if we can be of any further help please do not hesitate to call.
Regards,
Nick
