Saturday morning about to move off just a few checks .."..water tank half full...just run a little through the taps...switch on pump....turn on taps...not even a dribble. Opened water tank reached in shook the pump..used a few choice words and hea presto..success were off .

I know of someone who drilled a small hole in the filler cap and ran a piece of fishing line through it to give the pump a shake without having to open up everything

I think that the pump seizes after a bit not being used beit the water starting to have growth around the moving impeller.
Yeah it got me a few times and what a relief when it started working
