Hi all, we are going on Stenaline ferry from Rosslare to Cherbourg this Saturday, my question is:- do we need to present our wee dog before boarding, what is the procedure?

When you go to the first check in you need to advise you have a dog, you get a thing for your windscreen stating pet in car then at next point they check pet passport etc. Make sure the loaders know you have a pet on board if you are keeping the pet in the vehicle if not using the kennels as they parked a lorry so close to my van I couldn't access the Hab door. You get to take the pet for 2 10 minute walks on the car deck, no trees and not conducive for my dog.
Don't forget to see a vet before you come back to Cherbourg and get it checked again for the journey back.

Try to get a vets as far away as possible from the ferry as the closer you get to the ferry it gets dearer
you have up to 5 days before you arrive back into Ireland to visit a vets so on your way back to ferry just call into a vets and ask how much they charge (most towns have one )
I have been quoted from 15 to 80 euro per dog and I have 3 so best to shop around
