Looks like a tank heater switch.

Not on any van I've ever had.

Fan to blow warm air at/underwater tank to stop it from freezing???
240V "Frost" heating element in or under tank??????

What is the make/Model of van? Owner/Instruction booklet might be on the net.

My last van had a heater for the fresh water to stop it freezing and a warm air duct which could be used to blow warm air at the waste tank again to stop freezing. They say those Germans think of everything!

Like I said. A tank heater switch.
Can't see why you would want to heat the engine.

I have it as well. It made the noise but I didnt get it to work right at the weekend. Its so you can use the engine whilst your driving to heat the hot water tank and in my case the radiators as well. Ian at Hagans pointed it out to me last Thursday.

well done identifying the mysterious switch.

Crafty idea to use the engine coolant to heat the water.

Some boats use that system and it works brilliantly.

You'll save a fortune on Gas with that!
Enjoy.
