Just bought one of these to keep in the van, inflates up to 140PSI so suitable for motorhome tyres. 12Volt.

£14.99

Looks very similar to mine which was branded RAC and Ring. Not from Maplins though, but a great piece of kit. You will get good use and value from it.

Can anyone recommend a good 12 volt compressor capable of inflating motor home tyres?

I can’t, but I think Lidl were advertising air tools and compressors only last week. It looked like a comprehensive range. There might still be stock lingering.

I have a Ring RAC900 which does them no problem, it connects direct to the battery and not the cig lighter socket and that is key to get enough power to inflate to 80psi, any that don’t connect that way will struggle.

Ring RAC900 Heavy Duty Tyre Inflator, Air Compressor with 7m extendable airline, brass connector and storage bag https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0…BCbGRJHQT0

Thanks Fat Controller, that’s exactly what I’m looking for. That compressor and the tyre pressure monitoring system which was discussed on here a few weeks ago is all I can do tyre wise for my MH

RAC900 reduced to €85 in Halfords. Makes it cheaper than Amazon. I only bought one 2 weeks ago....

Will these really do a high pressure? I need 75psi on the front and 65psi on the back, I tried a Lidl one and it wasn't too good.

Yes they do. Will actually do close to 100psi not like the small cheap pumps

£75 on both Halfords and Amazon at the moment. Well over £100 on eBay. Think I’ll have to get one from Amazon as my local Halfords is showing they are out of stock of RAC 900. Wonder would you blow up a Airhub awning with it 😬. Probably in about 7 seconds followed by 10 minutes picking up all the bits after the explosion I would think...

I had the same thought but although the compressors are high pressure they are not high volume so might not do the job

Take your Axa Car insurance disc or Dolmen (Axa) disc into Halfords and get another 10% off!

I was refused discount in a Halfords store after showing the disc, they wanted the Axa discount card which I forgot to bring with me.

I called into Halfords in Newry today and their system matched what I found online. There are only about 5 of these left in NI with one in Omagh and a few in Belfast - none in Newry. Seems they won’t be getting them in again as they were clearance. Same price on Amazon.co.uk anyway so I have ordered one there.

I bought a Ring 900 last week. Nice easy connection to the jump-start points under the bonnet. It's definitely a good tool for the job, I dropped the pressure a bit for a test and it took the tyre from 65 to 76psi in under a minute.

ETA - another big advantage over the smaller one I had is that the threaded tyre valve connection is much longer and I no longer need to take off the hub-caps to connect.
