Stayed here over bank holiday, new site, very well laid out and great views down the glen , beside main carpark, £20 per night but the forest ranger guy mentioned it might not be open again until next bank holiday, pity as its a great spot, they have done a lot of felling

Shower/toilet block, Motorhome disposal point, elect and water at each pitch, all hard standing

we were at Glenariff a few weeks ago (for a walk) and the felling is due to disease in the trees. the place really is in a bad way. some of the riverside walks, or rather sections of the walk, are closed due to landslides/felling.

Good to hear the site has been tidied up , it was pretty grubby for a while - mind you the 'travelling people' were in residence at that time.

The old site was forest service and the new one was built by the forest service with the arrangement that the council would take over the running of it but now don't want to know that's why it's only open on holidays Edd

Hi, I am staying here over the Aug weekend. Looks good on the pics above. Expensive enough for electics/awning/extra kids. Have 4 kids under 12 with me, all girls. Looking to visit Garish Island. Is there anything for 4 kids to do in this campsite - heard it is a long walk into Glengarriff from here? Is it hard to get a motorhome down there? What is the electricity amperage there? Any info on this site appreciated, thanks.
PS: It also ever so slightly irks me when you have to pay extra for an awning - is it justified that extra should be paid for awnings?

Hi guys,
Just continuing this old discussion. Wondering about maybe heading up to Glenariff in the next week or two. Are the walks nice? Is there a playground on site? How does it compare against Tollymore & Castlewellan (our usual haunts).

Thanks

Stayed in the Glenariff TITTS a couple of weeks ago. It is just opposite the main park entrance and we made good use of the various walks around the glens. We also had a quick look at the new caravan park. Looks very tidy with good sized pitches. I see that the price is now higher than the other forest service sites. I can't recall seeing a playground though.
