Ducato heater coil light

Hi, I hope you can give me some advice regarding a problem which has just occurred on my Ducato based motorhome. The heater coil light has always come on and as normal went out when ready to start. I have attempted to start the van this morning and heater coil light did not come on and it took numerous attempts to actually fire the engine up. Any ideas please.

Fuse first
Relay second -Swap with another one of same capacity ( Note the size 20A, 40A etc on the fuse case)
If neither of these resolve it, the relay is probably not getting the 12V trigger voltage when key is first turned on.
? bad connector, ? bad cable or ? fault in time control circuitry (how long the heater is on for).

Thanks Joe..Will make start on it now. Hopefully easy enough fault to find. Thanks again
