FRESH WATER TANK

Hi question I have.
Filled fresh water tank this morning after adding water treatment.
Used hosepipe to fill, I expected tank to overflow when full much the same as when refueling diesel tank.
But after 20 mins water poured out from above the tank. :( I guess it was full.
Is there a breather pipe or something up there?
Turned tap off and drained a little water off ,no more leak :-)
I ran campervan taps and loo until all air expelled, just got to leave water treatment in 24 hrs then flush .
Job done.

There has been an overflow on any van I have had. I usually leave the hose in until the water comes out of the overflow underneath the van then turn it off.

The overflow was piped down through the floor in any vans I previously had.
Maybe the overflow pipe has fallen off or is kinked, dislocated or blocked.

Sorry misread the post as overflowed inside van.
ALL GOOD!
