For what its worth see attachment for my ramblings on routes to the Italian Lakes. This is partly based on last years trip but includes experience from many years travelling in Europe.

Thanks for that, we have been exploring France for the last 5 years or so, but I suspect next year is the year we either go north into Germany or south to Italy. I have skimmed your download and will book mark it for reference. I note though at the bottom it says 'page 1 of 5'. Are you going to post more or is my machine missing some of the post?

Don't know what has happened, there were 5 pages in the word document but the pagination doesn't seem to have come through on the download. When I download it is all there. Ends with a section about Austrian sites

Yes it ends with the section on Austrian sites both here and on facts. Thanks.

Another thank you. Wondering how you remember such detail, I would need a secretary in the passenger seat.

People can send you a Private Message (PM) and that way you will not get lots of spam

Croatia is a gem of a country. Wild camping is illegal and can incur a €60 fine. The campsites in the busier areas are many and varied. We drove the toll road from Zagreb to Dubrovnik, and to be honest, there are better places to visit than there. It also added around 900 miles to our trip. Coming in from Italy, rather than Hungary is much better. Many sites accept ACSI and many are so cheap its not worth getting the ACSI card out.
Travelling from Italy, towards Split is fabulous, you would never want to go to Spain again. Anything specific, give me a shout.

Although we got to Zagreb on a Sunday morning, we found it to be one huge and full carpark. There are two sites advertised on apps, both don't exist. There is one free place, in front of a motorhome hire place where the owner will let you stay, apparently he has more space close by where he tore his own vans.
