Further down the coast at Mijas Costa the mayor has encouraged motorhomers to stay for a few days during the winter. It is free, and there are facilities but you need to register your vehicle and the police check that you do not stay too long.
Sounds a good solution to me.

That must be the huge car park where the flea market is held eace Sunday. Stayed there for a few days last year, very convenient to the town.

There is no April Fool's Day in Spain but a similar thing in December. I think maybe 28th

Just talking to a couple who have been in the Mijas area for a while thinking of getting a property there. They say that very few people register their motorhomes, and the police don't bother unless they blatantly put out things like awnings. Hope this helps someone.

In very small grey print I think I see:
Apr 01, 2016

Plus the word "freeloading" is always a good one to make some of the campers I know go apoplectic.

Of course there is an old saying "Mocking is catching" :-)

Not a joke. I was in the Costa Blanca the first week in April and this article was on a couple of the local free papers. Also the car park at Mercadona in Playa Flamenca (South of Torrevieja) is now a building site.
