Overnight parking in Bangor

Hi all,
I will be in Bangor next weekend in our van and would appreciate any advice on overnight parking.

I see from google maps that there are several campsites along the coast but does anyone know if they are open this time of year.

Also an aire would also work, again is there any nearby that are considered safe

Thanks
Raymond

The closest official place is the Aire at Donaghadee.

Occasionally the odd van would be in the car park opposite the Salty Dog hotel, I would suggest parking close to the lifeboat garage backing up against the fencing of the marina. I don't think there are any signs stating not to.Failing this drive on around Seacliffe Rd and you wIll come across a car to your left, this might do.
Best of luck

Don't think I've seen a request for parking in Bangor before. Is it famous?

Hi All,

Thanks for all your advice, we have spent three very enjoyable nights parked on the Aire in Donaghadee.

This is a superb facility and is one of the best, I have come across in Ireland

We were on our own on Thursday night but on both Friday and Saturdays nights we had plenty of company.

We were in Bangor for the Dave McCullough 3 day international swimming meet as my son was competing.

As always, many thanks for your help

Raymond

Delighted to hear the Dave McCullough Memorial meet is being so well supported. Knew him for many years in Templeogue swim club
