Strandcamping Doonbeg open from 1st March

 ·

Hi guys after a fantastic winter away we have re charged and re energised and will re open from 1 March. Prices in March and April including Easter is €12 per MH inc 2 adults and 16amp ehu if required is an extra €3 per day.
Showers, wifi and hot water for hand washing, washing up etc are included in the pitch fee.
We have remodelled our shower block and it's now designed by persons who actually use campsite showers, hence now you find hooks plenty of, an area outside the shower where it is dry and you can get dressed without being a contortionist.
Add in the fact we have large washers and dryers, a couple of washing lines you'll soon see that the campsite has been equipped by someone who goes camping, well motor homing.
Hope to see some of you over the year a head.
Regards Jamie

Hi Jamie,
look forward to visiting you again this year. Did you get the problem with the Black water disposal sorted, on my previous visit I arrived with a full cassette with the intention of empting it as I was to be wild camping for a few days. But as you didn't have a CDU or permit emptying down the toilet I left with the cassette still full. If it is still the same I can pre plan for this as it would not put me off visiting your site.
Regards
Robert

Black water, emptying toilet cassettes is still not possible, we've a bio disc tank and the chemicals would harm the sewage treatment system. I've been round the houses with Irish water and the council to come up with a viable solution, we are getting there, we will need another huge tank, two pumps that will take waste 300m to the pumping station. Unlikely we will get this done until the end of summer due to amount of work needing to be done. On the plus side we've completely re modelled the shower block, each sex now have 2 contained shower rooms each have a toilet and sink. Plus an Wc each. All has been re tiled re painted and hot water to the sinks.
We hope this compensates for the lack of Chem toilet emptying point.
We have a drive over grey waste a 3 drinking water taps.
Plus a couple of other additions for this year.
Hope to see you sometime in 2016
Regards Jamie

The prices change and are more expensive during July and August when we are busiest. But the price for van, 2 adults, 2 kids over 3years old and 16amp electric in March and April inc Easter is €21 per night. There are no extra charges as showers and wifi are included.
If you get a chance have a look at the reviews for strand camping Doonbeg on trip advisor the reviews are very positive, and I didn't write them!

It's a 10 minute walk to the village, that's me walking it not mo Farrah! The village has 5 pubs, 3 restaurants, 2 takeaways plus other shops. There are paddle boats, cycle hire and a small playground in the village. There are fishing, sightseeing dolphin trips from the pier next to us. A beach not great for swimming 10/20 metres from our site a blue flag beach white strand 2 miles, golf 3 miles, Kilkee 7 miles etc etc.

Hi Steven it gets pricey with 3 kids in summer it is €36 per night including ehu, on a plus side there are no other extra charges. Ennis is 28 miles from us I'd normally allow an hour to get there in a MH. Which direction will you be coming from as sat Nav will not generally give you the easiest route to find us.
Can you give me your mobile and ETA please? My number is 085 8367324
Thanks Jamie

Apologies I thought I had replied to this but I can't see it. We allow 40 minutes to get there. It runs every 30 minutes on the half and hour.
