I have replaced both my leisure batteries and now the charger wont charge the starter battery but is charging the leisure batteries. The 25amp fuse was blown and has been replaced.
Any ideas what I need to check or what has gone wrong?
Where can I have charger repaired or replaced. Located in midlands

Do you mean from electric hook up?

I have only had one van, my current one, that charges the engine battery from EHU.

Folks
Thanks for all the reply's
Not charging from EHU , battery's still charging from vehicle and solor panels.

Fuse got blown when taking out old battery's despite the fact that all switches were turned off.
Charger is fitted to Knaus Sun Ti 650 2005

Thanks for link however they are charging £299stg plus pp, might have no choice to use them. Came across co in France outside Nantes charging €288 euro plus pp. Going to France in June
I would like if possible to have it replaced/ repaired here.
Anymore help or suggestions would be appreciated

Hi Breeze,

do you have a wiring diagram that includes the solar panel? (Or where do you have the solar panel directly connected to?)

I'm far from an expert - but if this was my van.. I'd be looking to see:

- what blew the fuse in the first place (did it blow the new fuse)
- does the engine charge all batteries - or only the starter? (to indicate if it may be coupler/separator issue)
- using the wiring diagram to identify potential points of failure in the electrical circuit (circuit boards etc. )

I hope that's of some use to you!

On my Knaus Sun Ti 650MF I had the same thing, would charge on the move and from solar as it was direct to the battery but it had blown the charging unit on the Calira, and I had to bite the bullet as it was the only place that did the repair/exchange. From time to time there is an add on ebay for the repair but I couldnt find it when I needed mine done last year (typical) so paid the £300 to A&N. The Calira units are known to blow but once you have a repaired one they are more rebust as stronger transistors are fitted to the recon units. The only way around this is to fit a seperate charger such as a CTEK and run it off the electric on hookup, but you cant take the charger out of the Knaus as it controls absolutly everything on board both 12v and 240v. My thoughts on the blown charger bit are get it changed because you will continue to put power into something which has failed and may possibly lead to other components overheating and starting a fire!

But that is just my view.
