Hi everyone! as most vans have wood on the bottom underneath
and even lower to the ground at the garage should it be treated with something
to keep the water out.Every one knows about wood and water.what do you do.

I had the whole bottom wax oiled. Was told it should last a few years, but not sure in this weather!

Same as Helgahobby. We had an Autosleeper. Even the manufacturer could not tell me wether the floor was marine grade ply or treated in any way. I was getting the chassis waxoiled so it was easy to have the firm do the underside of the floor as well. When we sold the van it was 10 years old and there was no sign of any deterioration.

Hessy was kept indoors most of her life and kept clean by her previous owners.
When i got her i coated everything underneath with the bitumen chip guard stuff painted on thick.
The axles are wax oiled as is the engine bay. All brakepipes, nipples and exposed nuts are coated with protector oil (GT85) and the wheel arches are cleaned out weekly with fresh water during the wash down as i use her daily and salty roads.
I check for coating and coverage once a month and recoat if necessary.
