Over the weekend the habitation door of my 2008 Autotrail refused to lock with the remote, it locks by key and the button inside. Today I removed the inside cover and found a spring lying in the door but for the life of me a cannot find where it should be fitted. The two photos show the spring and the type of lock perhaps some of you have knowledge of this lock and could give some advise. I have trawled the internet most of the day but cant get any diagrams or info on it. many thanks.

From your description and image it would appear, as your door locks manually that the fault lies with the electronic lock solenoid. The displaced spring attaches' between the solenoid and internal lock mechanism. Reattach the spring and hopefully problem solved. 🇧🇭

Hello, Pogonogo,

This reply may be too late, you have probably fixed your locking problem by now.
Anyway, the reason for not locking is probably a broken wire inside the black telescopic connector between the bottom of the door and the van body.

The spring fits between the metal front plate and the black plastic lever thing at the bottom of the lock.
You will see the small hole in the metal plate quite easily, but you have to look hard for the hole in the black plastic lever, it is just under a step in the lever. the spring is fitted with the U- bend shape towards the bottom.
By the way, the lock appears to function without the spring in place, it may be to assist the lever travel, or to hold the lever in place when travelling, but i am only guessing.
I dislodged the spring on mine when trying to find the reason for not locking, and it took some time to find where it went.

I have a couple of photos, but unfortunately i don't seem to be able to attach them.

hope this can be of some help to you or anyone else.

regards.

Many thanks for the reply, yes I finaly found where it went exactly as you said. It took a lot of studying but finaly I got it. I sprayed a mist of spray grease on the lock when finished and its working perfect since.
