That's really handy. Does that figure count for a gas heater ? I suppose the fan has quite a heavy draw.

Not sure what it refers to but I would think it's the fan.

I seen you posting on another forum about solar, was thinking that myself but keep wondering do I need it as I have never ran out yet.

This weekend will be a bit of a test. I had constant battery trouble with the last bus and never figured it out. I have a new Halfords 100ahr battery in so it should last a few days if it's not under heavy load. Problem is I like my heater but never realised it was so heavy on juice. Sure if all else fails I can just run the engine for a bit.

Yeah this weekend is a test for me too. I bought two 110ahr batteries just before Donaghey's weekend. Plan to give them a real test this weekend. Have you only blow heating and no fire as such? mine has the fire so I don't need to turn the blow heating on if trying to make batteries last.

I'm not sure. I think it can do both. You've got me thinking now though...do i need to buy another battery :'(

At Glasto last year we brought a Caravan, there were four of us in it. We got into Glasto on the Tuesday and didn't leave until Monday, we had two 44ahr car batteries with us and they lasted JUST.

But all we used them for was lights, water pump and charging 4 phones. Who needs a TV at a festival? :) so going by that you should be grand? :-/

runnig the engine is a waste of time, it has to be above tickover speed to achieve charging rate.

easy really, just nip out a wee drive, to shop for milk etc

just be sensible with what you use in van and its amazing how long batterry lasts, do you need 2 lights on or just one?

Leisure battery was fine. Shame about my starter battery packing up on Monday morning in the lashing rain.

I'm not sure why it drained but looks like my bad run with batteries is about to continue.
