Repairing a cracked polyplastic window

Hi,

Does anyone here have experience of getting a cracked window repaired.
The outside pane of one of my windows was damaged and I'm finding it very difficult to get a replacement to match.

Thanks in advance

No experience of getting it done, but a few I have seen are not the prettiest looking after the repair. There are a number of breakers who may be able to source one for you, even try some of the dealers who sponsor the site, just click their links at the top of the page for contact details.

Whilst I have not used them, I have read of people using this company to make a full replacement.

http://www.eeco-ltd.co.uk

They are called the exhaust ejector co. Although to make a new one could be expensive unless a mould already exists for your window. Another line of enquiry is a widely known and used breaker in England called O'leary motorhomes

http://www.olearymotorhomes.co.uk

Hope this helps.

I can vouch for the Exhaust Ejector Co, of Shelf, nr Halifax. I had a crazed window when buying the Swift KonTiki. Definitely no leaks, but unsightly. Maker wanted £1k, so I cast the google net and this crowd made a new one from the old for half that. Top quality work. It looks like new :'( Follow the link from Team Rienza and you`ll find the reception top class.

Doubt it could be welded, but perhaps take window off and put into a heated area to remove any moisture and then try a seam of superglue or bondrite. Araldite will darken although will hold the two. Perhaps a hot glue gun would be the business??

Friend of ours has a broken habitation window and couldn`t find a replacement but was advised that insurance company treat all windows the same and is having a new window replaced under the same conditions as a windscreen think they with Dolmans and won`t alter their no claims

Had similar problem with window in caravan. Repaired it with epoxy resin. No further problems.

I cracked the inside of my polyplastic window while moving back into parking spot on Sunday. I was cleaning all the windows, but left this one unlocked and sure enough when parking the wind blew it open and cracked the inside of it against the bloody garage....really gutted, trying to do good and making it worse😠. I rang James in anchorpoint who was very helpful, but I have a feeling it will be some time before it gets replaced due to cost of them...he mentioned polyplastic are no longer trading....
