we stayed in the municipal in Arromanches, in Normandy. it was quite basic, but very close to many of the WW2 attractions if that's what you're after. we found the whole town stank of seaweed to be honest.
as we travelled around Normandy, we found that there was a campsite around every corner, very few of them listed.
Perfect thanks, car park sound ideal for a night take in two days in Euro Disney before head to Bordeaux for ireland game , it was Brittany not normondy sorry for last 2 days before travel home . Also anyone stay in sequoia parc and what's transport like to get around so camper can be left in park

We found the Car Park at Disney great as we could wait for the night specular and the roll into bed within minutes. Then up for the next day and back into the Park. We had our grandson with us and he loved it. Not sure I did as it took about 6 months for the griots parts in my body to find their proper place.

No nothing whatsoever make sure your tank in full of water and cassette empty etc. We really enjoyed staying there as there were about 50 motor homes there and a great atmosphere. We sat out at 22.30 drinking wine etc and had great fun. Would love to do it again.

Car park sounds great, do you have to book ahead or is it just grap a space , are there any facilities , electric hook up?
These's no need to book ahead, you pay for the parking at the entrance to the parking area and buy the tickets for the attractions separately. Incidentally, you don't have to buy tickets for the attractions if you just want to park and see the free bits.
There's no leccy and no facilities but there is a services area where you can empty out and get fresh water.
There's space for hundreds of campers but try and find a space as far as possible from the noisy moving walkway.
Here's a picture from November 2014

If you go around where the coaches enter their section (over by the building for the coach drivers, the pink one with the green roof in my photo) there is a service area for the coaches which motorhomes can also use where you can get fresh water and dump grey and black for free.

For anyone going or coming through Roscoff there's a lovely Aire at Belle-Isle-en Terre, which just 25 minutes east of Morlaix on the N12.
When we stayed in 2010 it was free and there were are 8 or 10 spaces with free leccy and services, it's in a lovely quiet spot with picnic tables next to a river.
The co-ordinates are N48.543903°, W03.394587°

We've used 'Camping Jablines' a few times, it's about 20 min from Disney and has a shuttle bus that leaves from the gate, hook-ups, a shop and a lake with man made beaches. I think Sequoya Park is a bit isolated myself, it's a great site , but about 20/30 mins drive from anything. If you go just a little further, you have La Palmyre , a lovely small town with plenty of sites, good cycle tracks and fantastic beaches. We've used 'Atlantique Park' in La Palmyre twice.
I agree with Paul.
La Palmyre is a nice place. A great zoo too. (Well it used to be a great zoo when the kids went with us. I am sure someone will confirm it is still good)
Sequoya Park: we stayed here for week last year, great site, with a water park theme going on, entertainment, restaurant, takeway etc, but a bit remote
but dear god awful mosquitos, they even spray stuff out of automatic hoses at night

keith the car park is ideal if you have children. You are about 100m from a moving walkway that takes you to the front gates. Also hot showers included in the carpark ticket fee. Also gives u the option of getting back to van for a rest and food during the day and thereby saving on the very average and extremely overpriced fast food. Been there 3 times at end of hols for a day or two each time, the whole family love the whole thing, car park and all!

Yes Mark, the zoo is a good one, usually I'm not too keen because of the animal welfare issues, however, La Palmyre zoo is good for the animals (huge enclosures) as well as the visitors.
Well I thought Disney was a rip off but that's just my opinion €30 Euros to park in a car park (unless you have an annual pass) is a bit steep. The facilities are there but they are intended for the coach drivers and some don't like motorhomers using them when they are around.
Best use them after the coaches have left.
I would have thought that for €30 Disney could provide some proper facilities - Puy de Fou in the Vendee have a huge (800 spaces) dedicated motorhome aire with facilities inc. some EHUs for less than a quarter of what Disney charge.
Hi mark.
Will be driving from Cherbourg to Paris area, either eurodisney or Versailles, not sure which first,at easter.
I would be hoping to do it in one go, but only did Normandy last year, so just looking for a overnight, maybe just over halfway just in case the ferry is late or the kids are in meltdown in the back!!
It is achievable in one run but I understand what you mean about keeping the kids happy.
If you are going the A13 route I wouldn't be much help.
If you are going the A28 route (which may be easier) I would have suggested the Aire at Pont d,Ouilly but it is only about one third of the way. It is very nice.

Thanks Mark
That spot looks very nice. I would hope to get nearer paris on the way.I might actually use that on the way home.
Would you recommend the a28 route over the a13.

The a28 runs down to le man's and then up to Paris.
I had thought of using the "avoid tolls option" to avoid heavy traffic so I was going by the a88.
The journey time seems about the same.
Any thoughts?
