I am certified by autoglym so I might go on a bit here.

Make the area wet. (easy , no funnys please)
Use TFR from the bottom up.

Rinse with a hose.
Wash with a sponge and mild wash/ shampoo.

Dry off with a soft chamois.

Polish small areas at a time. And buff up with a microfiber cloth.

Do glass with glass cleaner and microfiber cloth.

The most important area is the roof. It you don't cleant it properly any dirt on it will run down the clean sides during the first rain shower.

This is a basic overview and there is a lot more needs to be done.

I have thought of offering a cleaning service for motorhomes but don't think anyone would pay for my time.

Do any folk go on the roof of their vehicles to clean them? If not how do you do it. Also how do you clean underneath the solar panel etc?

With the size of me I wouldn't think about going on the roof, I use a telescopic brush and a hose.

No Jack, I don' go on the roof, I usually pull along side it with a 6ton Dumper full of stone and stand on it and use a long handle soft Brush, I just hose under the Solar panel with water.

I don't use TFR (Traffic Film Remover) as it is too aggressive and prolonged use can fade graphics and trim - ever wondered why older red Vauxhalls turn to a faded pink?

I use a quality Snow Foam and a pressure washer to cover the Motorhome in a layer of foam (like shaving foam). This is left for 5 to 10 mins and softens and loosens the dirt and drags off the grit.

I use a lambswool wash mitt in a bucket with a grit guard and some quality car shampoo (which you cannot buy on the high street). I use an extending brush only for the roof.

For my cars I use two buckets with grit guards (this process keeps the wash bucket clean and free of grit right to the very end of the wash) and I have no scratches or swirl marks on the paintwork 8-)

Great Backwell quarry 3 miles down the road

Can you make it before Wednesday as we are going to The Western Motorhome show on Thursday for the weekend unless the 3 counties showground is under water.

David
