After 20 months of fighting it finally happened.

Picked up my Motorhome on Friday after getting the habitation door and all the graphics replaced. It took so long because dometic who make the habitation doors refused to admit it was not of an acceptable standard.

The graphics had a few minor blisters and bad edges but auto trail agreed to replace them months ago but I didn't want them replaced until the door was agreed as they go over it too.

The door took much longer and Abbey Caravan fought for it to be replaced. It took a long time and many many emails to dometic (all sent by Abbey Caravans).

Last week it all came together and was done.
I now have a habitation door without ripples in the skin and graphics without blisters etc.

A big thank you to Abbey Caravans for persisting for me and as they are now an advertiser on this site I think members should be aware of my experience.

This weeks task it to get the whole van exterior washed , polished and re-sealed

A lot of manufacturers get the blame for things going wrong with a motorhome when it is really down to the items fitted which are made by outside parties, Dometic, Thetford, Truma, Fiamma, Thule etc etc. However there needs to be both a willingness from the dealer and the manufacturer to sort the problem and secondly if in Marks case a decent quality inspection had taken place during the manufacturing process then a lot of grief could have been avoided as they would have rejected the door/graphics before sending it out.

Well done to Abbey for their perseverance in getting it sorted.
